MCM101 Assignment 1 Solution Spring 2024

Task 1 Solution

There are many different communication models, some of which are already very old, but which have nevertheless retained their validity in the age of modern, digital communication. In some cases, they have even gained importance when it comes to developing an optional communication concept for internal and external corporate communication.

Osgood Model

Osgood’s model is better than the other two models because this model focused upon the social nature of communication. This model was more applicable in intrapersonal communication in which the sources and the receiver of messages are physically presented.

Reason

Since communication concepts for corporate communication generally relate almost exclusively to content and channels, the development of a communication model can help to check the suitability of the concept. Here, findings from existing communication models can be incorporated and linked with the new findings, contents, and technologies of the communication tools or using unsuitable channels for certain information.

Yes, I am agreed. The real of technology is ever-changing and the new technological advances have transformed the way people communicate. Technology has changed everything in the modem society. The way we communicate has been revolutionized by the advancement of new innovations in the telecommunication sector. Connecting with other people with ease is more feasible in today’s world and this is due to speed. With every new innovation, the reliance on books and newspapers as the mass medium of communication continued to reduce. With time, the human culture has come to understand the power and the mechanisms involved in technology and invention. In today’s world, the information has permeated in the cycles of change and development.

Examples:

  • The Invention of the telegraph, in the mid-1800s, changed print media almost as much as the printing press. Suddenly information could be transmitted in minutes. As the nineteenth century became the twentieth, U.S. publishers such as Hearst redefined the world of print media and wielded an enormous amount of power to socially construct national and world events. Of course, even as the media empires of William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer were growing, print media also allowed for the dissemination of counterculture or revolutionary materials. Internationally, Vladimir Lenin’s Irks newspaper was published in 1900 and played a role in Russia’s growing communist movement.
  • Technology and the media are interwoven, and neither can be separated from contemporary society in most core and semi-peripheral nations. Media is a term that refers to all print, digital, and electronic means of communication. From the time the printing press was created, technology has influenced how and where information is shared. Today, it is impossible to discuss media and the ways societies communicate without addressing the fast-moving pace of technology change. New media encompasses all interactive forms of information These include social networking sites, blogs, podcasts, wikis, and virtual worlds. Clearly, the list grows almost daily. However, there is no guarantee that the information offered is accurate. In fact, the immediacy of new media coupled with the lack of oversight means we must be more careful ever to ensure our news is coming from accurate sources.
